First prize is a full college scholarship, which Tucker wants to win for his single mother who is juggling work, study, and her family. Tucker hopes that winning will mean that his mother will have more time for him and his younger brother Beecher, who has a disability. The story is interspersed with Tucker's developing comic; Beanboy, who fights injustice by unleashing deadly gases.
